The hotel is located in a building that is highly symbolic of the
spirit of the small village of Empordanese, the Mas Fàbrega. It was
formerly a hospital, built in 1364 by Maria de Xèrica, the countess
of Empúries. The air-conditioned and fully renovated complex offers
guests the opportunity to experience the unique quality of the
building, as well as its garden, gastronomic delights and its warm
and friendly nature. It offers guests a choice of 23 rooms, of
which 3 are junior suites, as well as an entrance hall, a café, a
bar, a restaurant, an air-conditioned lounge with music, TV and a
library and 2 fully equipped conference rooms. In addition to this
public Internet, a laundry service and childcare are available, and
the hotel has its own car park (kept under surveillance).
Rooms
The exclusive rooms are each stylishly themed with a famous
painter, musician, novelist, architect or historical figure in
mind, such as Salvador Dali, Josep Pla, Jaume I or Margarida Xirgu.
All rooms come with individually adjustable air conditionig and
heating, an en suite bathroom, satellite TV, background music, a
hire safe and a direct dial telephone.
Restaurant & Food
The restaurant is designed for a maximum of 90 guests and offers a
range of gastronomical delights. Traditional and first-rate dishes
are prepared, all cooked with natural local ingredients. The result
is lavish and varied meals on offer, with the special taste of
local products including meat, fish, fruit and vegetables. The wine
cellar Celler de Can Roca rounds of the range of amenities on
offer.
Activities & Sport
As well as fantastic contact to nature guests can take advantage of
a large range of leisure activities. On the hotel grounds guests
will find a swimming pool on 3 levels and a sun terrace with
loungers and parasols. It is also possible to see Empordà from the
air, by taking a trip in a hot air balloon, and there are 7 golf
courses within 15-45 minutes from the hotel. Guests can also take a
tour by horse and carriage, by bicycle, by foot or on
horseback.
