The hotel dates back to 1820 when it was formerly a coaching inn and is exquisitely full of charm and character. The hotel has 39 rooms in total and provides guests with facilities including a lobby with 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a bar, a breakfast room, conference facilities and a laundry service. Guests arriving by car may leave their vehicle in the hotel car park.

The rooms are designed to offer comfort for a relaxing stay. All bedrooms are en suite (shower and bath) and have individual styles to accommodate business and leisure travellers alike. The rooms feature colour TV, Internet access, telephone, radio, tea/coffee courtesy tray, a hairdryer and ironing facilities. The rooms are centrally heated.

A buffet breakfast is available in the mornings. There is a snack menu is available from the bar during the day.

The hotel does not have any leisure facilities however there is a gym situated opposite the hotel.

From the north, exit the M5 at junction 11 and follow signs for the city centre and docks. Pass the docks on the right and follow the one way system. Turn left into Southgate Street and the hotel is on the left, opposite the church. From the south, exit M5 at junction 12 and follow signs for city centre and docks. Pass the docks on the left. At traffic lights move into the right hand lane and then follow the road to the right joining the one way system. Turn left into Southgate Street and the hotel is on the left, opposite the church.
