This brand new luxury hotel enjoys a perfect location in Prins Hendrikkade in the city centre, only around 500 m from the Central Station and just 1 km from Dam Square. This unique setting in the historic heart of Amsterdam borders on beautiful canals and means the hotel is within walking distance of the best sights. The valet parking service will take care of guests' cars - one worry less. Schiphol Airport is just 19 km away.

Description

This is a lovely deluxe property with an excellent location and comes highly recommended. It is a historical builiding and has some lovely original touches, eg the original lifts that were used which had no doors so you would simply step in them and step out. These are still working but encased behind glass. In fact, the entire hotel is like a museum and momento of the past.
Exterior: The exterior of this building is very unique - it stands on a street corner and and resembles the helm of a great ship. It has many carvings engraved all over as well as numerous gargoyles and does not resemble a hotel whatsoever
Lobby: The lobby, which is reached by a small staircase, is small and has only a concierge desk, however, a main featur of the hotel is the original ceiling above the lobby. There is a small reception located off the lobby where guests are invited to sit down whilst checking in. Just behind the concierge desk is the bar.

Rooms

The bedrooms are superb and as the hotel has only recently opened, they are in excellent condition. They are spaciously large, decorated in dark wood and blue and offer all the facilities one would expect from this category hotel. The bathrooms are also in excellent condition however, they are with large showers only and no bath.

Restaurant & Food

The restaurant is located on the upper ground floor and is very large. As this is a historical building, it is also a listed building and therefore, much of the original decor still exists so this room, while large and spacious, also benefits from the original woodwork found throughout the property. At night, the restaurant serves a predominantly fish menu and for breakfast, offers a very extensive buffet. The hotel also has a popular bar which serves an extensive snack menu as well as numerous hot and cold drinks and cocktails.

The hotel features an indoor pool and sports enthusiasts may enjoy a work-out in the gym.
