The hotel is located right in the historic centre of Madrid between Puerta del Sol and Plaza de Cibeles. A few metres away are the government building Congreso de los Diputados and the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza. Other major museums and sights are a short walk from the hotel, as well as the commercial and tourist district, centring on the vibrant street of Gran Via. Close by there are is also a bus stop and Atocha railway station. Barajas Airport is approximately 15 km from the hotel.

During the 2006 renovation of the building its façade and structure, typical of the historic quarter Madrid de los Austrias, were preserved in their original style. The air-conditioned buildings have a terrace outside and comprise a total of 169 rooms, of which 5 are junior suites and 2 are suites. In addition to this facilities including an entrance hall with 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a currency exchange counter, a cloakroom and lift access are available to all guests. There is also an on-site café, bar, restaurant and conference room, and guests may make use of the hotel's wireless Internet connection, laundry and room services.

Rooms
The modern rooms are practical and comfortable in design. They each come with a large en suite bathroom with hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite TV, a radio and Internet access. A safe, a minibar, heating, air conditioning, a balcony or terrace and either a double or king-size bed also come as standard. Disability-friendly rooms are also available on request.
