Situated in Tiong Bahru estate in the heartlands of Singapore, this city hotel is a mere 10-minute drive from the famous Orchard Road shopping high street and the cultural centre of Chinatown, as well as the central business district. Just across the road from the hotel is the Tiong Bahru Market, a typical Singaporean food court, which serves local cuisine such as chicken rice and Zhui Kueh. It is a 7-minute walk to Clarke Quay with its vibrant night life. Vivocity - Singapore's biggest shopping mall, and Zouk Disco - considered one of the best clubs in the world, are a 5-minute drive from the hotel. Outram Mass Rapid Train (MRT) and Tiong Bahru MRT stations are a 7-minute stroll from the hotel, and Singapore Changi Airport is 26 km away.

A hotel with 288 rooms, opened in 2007, is spread over two separate blocks and situated in one of the area's oldest housing estates. It exemplifies the unique planning and architectural style typical of British public housing from the same period. The first former Singapore Improvement Trust flats to be converted into a hotel, the property consists of two pre-war buildings, complete with original facades. The buildings are situated on opposite sides of the main road and are connected by an air-conditioned, overhead link bridge. Services provided by the hotel include a business centre with secretarial services, currency exchange facilities, laundry and dry cleaning services and an outdoor car park, as well as a shuttle service to Orchard Road. The air-conditioned lobby has a 24-hour receptionist and check-out and lift access. There is also a hotel bar in the lobby, as well as a lounge where live bands often perform in the evenings. Room and laundry services can be provided (extra fees apply) and there is parking for guests arriving by car.

Rooms
Superior rooms are small however the clever use of lighting and the row of windows brighten the rooms and providing a spacious feel. Rooms are decorated in either Chinese, Indian, Malay or Modern themes to reflect the multi-cultural side of Singapore. The low wardrobe TV console sit in one corner with a LCD television on top, the wardrobe has limited space. A small writing table is also available for writing, all rooms are equipped with coffee/tea making facilities, slippers and broadband internet access is also available at a charge. Bathroom is small and has standing shower.

Restaurant & Food
Lobby Lounge offers drinks and snacks in a relaxing environment. Akira serves authentic Japanese Restaurant. A buffet service is provided for breakfast. There is an à la carte menu for lunch and dinner.
