The buildings within the walls of 23LoveLane Hotel were constructed at different times beginning from the 1800s, representing five different architectural periods. The 10 room hotel is situated in the heart of George Town and was originally a private residence owned by a European and later by a local family. Along the way, it became the Oasis Hotel, until it was bought by the present owner in 2007. A renowned conservationist joined the team of architects and consultants and lovingly brought the buildings back to life in a three year project. 23LoveLane Hotel opened for business in December 2011.

Cosy and charming, each air-conditioned room features classic teak furniture and local art work. A private bathroom with heated shower and TV with cable channels are included in the rooms. Rooms also have a seating area. Guests can enjoy a relaxing massage at Love Lane, which also provides babysitting services upon request. Free public parking is available for guests. The hotel offers one suite for physically challenged guests, with wheelchair access as well as a purpose-designed bathroom.

SteakFrites@23 Restaurant is adjacent to the main hotel building, occupying a pre-war shop house charmingly decorated with vintage furniture and whimsical curios. This is the place to savour what diners are raving as the best “medium-rare†steaks in town. [Our chef would of course be delighted to cook the meat according to your preference]. Our simple menu consists of only premium cut steak (150gm or 200gm), accompanied by a generous helping of fries and salad. This one dish wonder is served during dinner from Monday to Friday and for both lunch and dinner on weekends. Check out the antique long bar we installed, have your glass of wine there or if you prefer a quieter place, head to the cosy little lobby bar in the main building. Breakfast and afternoon tea is served in the restaurant daily.

The Library is situated on the upper floor of the Anglo Indian Bungalow. A bright and colourful space decorated in tones of reds, it is perfect for rainy days and for guests seeking some quiet, catch up with emails or read a book. Guests can help themselves to coffee and tea whilst browsing through the books and magazines. Delightful board games await you too.
