Although there has never been tourism on Groote Eylandt the Anindilyakwa speaking people are keen to show off their way of life, art and history. The development of Dugong Beach Resort, through GEBIE (Groote Eylandt Bickerton Island Enterprises), with the assistance of the Anindilyakwa Land Council is helping to make our dream a reality. Training is on-going as Cultural Tours are developed with the help of Tourism NT and other organizations that will enhance guests visit to the island and make it a pleasant stay.
Exterior: Set in a lush tropical landscape garden the accommodation, restaurant and spa are all inter-connected by boardwalks to preserve the natural surroundings.
Lobby: Reception with concierge is available from early morning to late evening with an electric baggage buggy to transfer luggage to and from the rooms.
