Built in 1923 as a grand bank, the building was extensively
renovated with many original features restored in 1998 to create
this hotel which has recently undergone refurbishment in February
2008. The hotel comprises 9 en-suite bedrooms of a 3-star standard,
each one individually designed to reflect the work and lives of a
famous Scot. The rooms are arranged over the three floors and
accessed via the original staircase.
Rooms
Included in all our rooms are a self-lockable safe, iPod dock with
ceiling in-built speakers, bathroom controllable speaker system and
full tea and coffee making facilities which come with Scottish
delicacies. All bedrooms also come with GHD hair straighteners as
standard, large flat screen TV, iron with iron board and working
desk area and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Restaurant & Food
A full Scottish and continental-style breakfast selection is served
on the mezzanine level of the Bank Bar, with views onto The Royal
Mile.
Activities & Sport
We host an extensive selection of Scottish whisky hand selected
from the Islands, Highlands, Lowlands and Speyside. If you're not
sure which one to try, our staff is always on hand to recommend and
guide. If you are looking for the perfect cocktail, you'll find it
at the Bank, with an extensive collection of classics plus some
twists of our own.We also have live music every Friday and Saturday
night.

Directions, How to get
there
From the airport, follow signs to Edinburgh city centre along the
A8, through Corstorphine, Murrayfield and Haymarket. At the West
End of Princes Street, turn right into Lothian Road and take the
first left into Kings Stables Road. Follow this road under the
bridge until reaching the Grassmarket. At the T-Junction turn left
into the Grassmarket and continue through onto the Cowgate under 2
bridges. After the 2nd bridge take the 2nd road on the left, a
small lane called Blackfriars Street. Turn left at the top onto the
Royal Mile and the Bank Hotel is situated on the corner of South
Bridge and the Royal Mile is on the left-hand side. Guests can park
briefly on Niddry Street, which is the first street on the left
before the hotel, while they unload luggage. Car parking is
available at St Johns Hill Car Park by the Pleasance, where guests
will receive 20% discount on parking.
