The hotel and golf course opened in September 2002, and form part
of the Barceló Montecastillo Resort, offering accommodation in 49
rooms and 18 villas amidst functional, peaceful surroundings. It
includes a castle dating from 1900 which now houses the golf club,
as well as a restaurant, café, bar and rooms for banquets and
events. In 2002 the other building of the hotel opened with the
guest rooms and additional dining and function facilities. It is an
ideal hotel for groups and exclusive events, for anyone who wishes
to have their activities in a private area. The hotel is fully air
conditioned and offers facilities including a lobby with 24-hour
reception and check-out service, a hotel safe, currency exchange
facilities and lift access. A hairdressing salon and children's
playground also form part of the complex. Internet access, room
service and laundry service are available, and guests arriving by
car may make use of the car park and garage.
Rooms
The hotel offers light-filled accommodation, decorated in
Andalusian style. Most rooms have a balcony or terrace and many
offer views of the golf course. The en suite bathrooms include a
shower, bath and hairdryer. Rooms offer double or king-size beds, a
direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, Internet access, a safe,
minibar and air conditioning and central heating.
Restaurant & Food
There are two restaurants in all; "El Lagar", located in the main
hotel, offers the finest traditional Andalusian cuisine with the
most select products from the region as well as a wide variety of
international dishes. Only fresh, local products selected daily are
served here. For a more informal meal, "Bar de Castillo" is
recommended, where you can savour typical 'tapas' as well as
diverse dishes off the menu - all amid a genuinely Andalusian
atmosphere.
Activities & Sport
The resort has 2 outdoor swimming pools and one indoor heated pool.
A children's swimming area is included. Sun loungers and parasols
are laid out ready for use on the sun terrace. Guests may enjoy
aqua fit classes (fees apply), the gym, hot tub, sauna and steam
room, or indulge in a massage or spa treatment. There are also 4
paddle tennis courts, 1 tennis court, table tennis facilities, a
sports complex, a jogging track and 2 football pitches with
professional equipment (fees may apply to sporting activities). In
addition, the resort has a golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus,
which played host to the Volvo Masters 5 years running from 1997 to
2001, and which also has a golf school. Entertainment programmes
for both children and adults are offered. Sun loungers and parasols
are also available for hire on the nearby sandy beach.
Comments
The hotel has outside car parking available, free of charge. An
entertainment programme is offered only in August. Pets are
permitted only in the villas of the hotel, not in the main
building. The use of the spa facilities costs EURO 6 + 7% VAT per
person.

The hotel is situated on exit number 3 of the A382, right next to
the racing circuit of Jerez.
