Africa Queen

Set in a small building, this charming, family-friendly beach hotel has 36 rooms with private terraces and 30 rooms facing the ocean. It was recently renovated, in 2008. For guests' convenience, the hotel has direct access to the beach and to 3 souvenir shops. Guests are welcomed into a reception hall with 24-hour check-in and check-out service. The décor is in a traditional African spirit, and the staff is very friendly. Facilities include air conditioning, currency exchange, a cloakroom, a newspaper stand, a night club and a car park. For dining and drinks, guests can enjoy the hotel's own bar and restaurant. There are also conference facilities, and room and laundry services are on offer as well (the latter for a fee).

The rooms are quiet and feature traditional décor. Each room comes with a double bed, as well as individually regulated air conditioning, a ceiling fan, TV, a small fridge and a private bathroom with shower and hot water. Other amenities include a hairdryer, direct dial telephone, Internet access, a minibar and a balcony or terrace.

Half board includes breakfast and dinner buffets, and the full board option also includes a set menu lunch.

The hotel offers a group entertainment programme, as well as shows, a night club, pétanque, ping pong and an outdoor swimming pool with children's section. There is also a poolside snack bar where guests may purchase refreshments, and sun loungers and parasols are set up on the sun terrace. For an additional fee, guests may enjoy massage treatments, as well as jet skiing, sailing and pool/snooker. The hotel also offers a gym, beach volleyball and bocce. In addition, guests may relax with sun loungers and parasols on the fine sandy beach nearby.

Reception is open 24 hours a day for check-in and check-out.

Take the national road 1 to the airport road. Proceed until the Diamniadio junction. Turn right there. Head towards Mbour until the Campement Ngekhoh junction. Turn right towards La Somone. The hotel is located in Villa La Somone.
