It is located in a nine hectare estate, comprised of beautifully
maintained ponds, &[meaning unclear] vineyards with views
of the surrounding Helderberg Mountain and False Bay. An excellent
hotel, perfect for guests wishing to have a relaxing and tranquil
stay. There is a very good spa with a variety of treatments
available to guests. There are two outdoor swimming pools and a
spa.
Exterior: A very attractive building built in the style of classic
Dutch Cape architecture. Painted white and just two storeys tall,
the hotel is spread out over many hectares of well-kept land.
Lobby: The large, open plan lobby has high ceilings and separate
reception & [meaning unclear] concierge desks. The lobby
leads directly into a lounge area with a large fireplace, and is
overlooked by a rooftop ceiling, giving the whole room a bright
atmosphere.
Rooms
The tastefully appointed rooms feature carpeted floors and come
with an en suite bathroom with hairdryer, and a double or king-size
bed. Unique views over the hotel gardens, the majestic Helderberg
Mountains, or over False Bay can be had from all rooms in this
hotel. Further fittings include a direct dial telephone,
satellite/cable TV a radio, a hifi, tea and coffee making
facilities, an Internet connection and, in most rooms, a terrace, a
hire safe and a minibar. The air conditioning and heating may be
individually adjusted. Wheelchair accessible rooms can be booked on
request.
Restaurant & Food
There are two restaurants, both located on the ground floor: La
vigna, which serves Tuscan international cuisine & [meaning
unclear] and the Garden Terrace, serving buffet and an a la carte
menu. The Breakfast room offers an excellent buffet, serving hot
and cold foods. The room spills out onto a pleasant terrace area
where guests can also eat.
Activities & Sport
The outdoor complex features a sun terrace with loungers and
parasols laid out ready for use, 2 swimming pools (1 heated), a hot
tub and a poolside snack bar. It is also possible to relax with a
massage or in the sauna. Sports enthusiasts may also enjoy a
workout in the gym or try tennis, aerobics, table tennis, squash,
riding, bowling or cycling. Golf and pool/snooker are further
options available. Trips with hot-air balloons, whale viewings,
sailing, windsurfing, deep-sea diving, motor boating and horse
riding can all be undertaken in the near vicinity of the hotel
(charges apply). In addition, the nearest golf course lies around 1
km away.
Comments
The hotel offers an exclusive helicopter service to Cape Town and
the unique areas in the neighbourhood. Check-in time is 2 pm and
check-out time is 11 am.
