Situated at 25 Lorong 16 Geylang, Hotel 81 Palace is about 3-5 minute walk to the bustling main road. This area is known as Singapore's main red-light district and also well known to the locals for good food and fruit shops. The streets will transform at night with garish neon lights and red lanterns signifying houses of pleasure. This is as close as guests get to the alternative side of Singapore. It is 8 minute walk to the nearest MRT which is Aljunied MRT Station, and 3 minute walk to the nearest bus stop. Furthermore, the hotel is 5 km to city center and 3 km to Suntec Convention Center.

Featuring modern exterior with bright paint schemes of yellow and blue, Hotel 81 Palace is part of the Hotel 81 chain operating more than eleven budget properties in Singapore. The building fronts one of the many side streets that make up the Geylang area. It comes to life at night with a bustling main road full of locals and renown for its cuisine. The lobby is very small with no frills, and a single counter manned by friendly staff with a small seating area. Other amenities comprise foreign exchange facility, parking lot, a lift access, laundry service, tour desk and WiFi internet access.

Rooms
Althoughthe rooms may be smaller than those in other more expensive hotels, they come with the basic amenities including air conditioning (central or split), a TV, a double bed, a telephone, an ironing set, a hairdryer and a coffee-making facility with complimentary beverages and mineral water. High speed Internet access in selected guest rooms for an additional fee and an en-suite bathroom with a shower and standard toiletries are also offered. All rooms have bathrooms with standing showers only, and certain rooms come with a wardrobe but not all.

The MRT (subway) connection from the airport can bring one to the nearest station, Aljunied MRT Station then a short taxi or bus ride will bring guests to the hotel.
