The biggest province at the Island of Celebes is the Central Sulawesi. Due to its strategic location, their many port towns has been included in the regular sailing routes by Portuguese and Spain merchant ships, 500 years ago. The cacao, coffee, and cloves from Sulawesi has been imported as exotic spices to Europe for hundred of years.
