Exterior: The Historic Ramada Downtown Vancouver was originally
built in 1912, by the architect Otto Moberg. Originally named the
Connaught Hotel for the Duke of Connaught, the 7th child of Queen
Victoria, who visited Vancouver in the year the hotel was built.
The site of the property has been housing travellers and visitors
to Vancouver since 1890 when it was Mrs. Rose's Boarding House
which later became the Modern Rooming House in 1907, operated by
Miss Sarah Campbell, until the current property was built.
Lobby: The charming European-style lobby provides a comfortable
oasis for travellers arriving for their stay in Vancouver, host
city of the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.

there
From YVR airport, take the Canada Line Skytrain to Waterfront
Station. Take the escalator on the right, exiting onto Granville
Street. Once at street level, turn left onto Pender Street. The
hotel is at Richards and Pender. From Highway 1, take the Hastings
St exit. Travel west on Hastings St, turn left onto Hamilton St,
and then right onto Pender St. From Highway 99, head north. Hwy 99
then turns into Oak St. Turn left onto W. Broadway, and then right
onto Granville St. Over the bridge take the Seyour St. exit. Turn
right onto Georgia St, left onto Homer St, and then left onto
Pender St.
