The vegetation on the island ranges from semi open to heavy jungle.
There is a great variety of trees, such as native teak, tamarind,
fig, coral and Banyan. Animal life includes rusa deer, banteng
buffalo, boar, monkey and bats. Birdlife consists of the white
breasted sea eagle, barmity kite, osprey, megapod and other spices
of wild birds. The surrounding seas contain many colorful corals,
both soft and hard varieties, including staghorn, gorgonian fans,
sponges and plate coral. This resort is a paradise for the nature
lovers and diving lovers.
Exterior: Set in a secluded cove overlooking crystal clear seas and
surrounded by a lush tropical forest, Amanwana is a nature camp and
hideaway for those who want to experience pristine wilderness in
comfort.
Lobby: Rising under a canopy of tropical forest, a soaring open air
pavilion is made for dining and all day lounging.
Rooms
Twenty luxury tents lie scattered beneath a canopy of tropical
forest on a secluded jungle beach. Paths link the tents to each
other.Each spacious air-conditioned tent is open plan containing
three distinct areas. A sitting area at the entrance has two large
divans built into the front corners of the tent that can be made
into comfortable sleeping beds for children, or, an additional
adult. Positioned in the center is the king-size bed, behind which
is a large writing desk. The bathroom area includes a shower,
toilet and two separate vanity units. Ocean Front tents have
fabulous ocean views whereas the Jungle Tent are set slightly
behind and have jungle and ocean views.
Restaurant & Food
The open air dining room which serves a daily menu of fresh Asian
and Western dishes, has a Sumbawan epil wood floor, a soaring
bamboo roof and pillars of solid coconut. The central grill is a
focal point.
Activities & Sport
This property features an outdoor swimming pool with a sun terrace
(charges apply) and, for an additional fee, guests may relax with a
massage or spa treatment. There are a number of watersports on
offer for an extra charge, including diving, sailing, canoeing and
pedal boating. Further activities available to guests include
nature excursions, cruises, exploration of the surrounding islands,
and snorkelling (an extra charge applies), and it is also possible
to explore the surrounding area by bicycle (charges apply).
