Situated on the outskirts of the Central Business District, along Lorong 16 in the middle of Geylang, which features a colorful landscape of small restaurants and eateries, neon lights, interesting entertainment outlets and the largest collection of durian (strong smelling tropical fruit) stalls on the island. The hotel is near the interesting "Red Light District" which adds to the colorfulness atmosphere of the area. Almost halfway between Changi International Airport and the Central Business District (CBD), the hotel is a 15-minute drive by car from downtown Singapore via Nicoll Highway, and it is 20 minutes to Changi International Airport. The Aljunied MRT Station (EW9) is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

The hotel is part of the Hotel 81 chain operating more than eleven budget properties in Singapore. Featuring modern exterior with bright paint schemes of blue, this 5 storey hotel provides a comfortable stay for travelers on a tight budget. It boasts 85 rooms in total and provides for the basic needs of guests. There is 24-hour reception, a laundry service (subject to fees), a safe deposit box at the reception and car park facilities (subject to fees). It is air-conditioned and has lift access. Other amenities comprise disable facility, car park, wheelchair accessible and car park.

Rooms
The rooms are small but clean. Amenities include individually adjustable air conditioning, TV, direct dial telephone, coffee/tea making facilities and hairdryer in selected rooms, as well as en-suite bathroom with shower. An ironing set is available on request. The Standard/Twin Rooms boast one queen-size bed or 2 single beds, and no extra bed is allowed due to space constraint.
