The hotel is located in Queluz, which is both a town and a parish within the municipality of Sintra. It has more than 70,000 inhabitants and is located 14 km from Sintra and 12 km from Lisbon. Some interesting places for guests to visit nearby include the Pena National Palace dating back to the 19th century, the Village National Palace (12th/16th century), the Joe Berardo Museum, the Toy Museum, Mafra Convent, Cabo da Roca, Estoril, Cascais and Lisbon.

The hotel is housed in a building formerly used by the Royal Guard of the Court in the Palace of Queluz, known as the 'Portuguese Versailles'. The hotel's attractive interior design and the exacting renovation of its little private theatre can only be matched by the exquisite cuisine of the Cozinha Velha restaurant. This air-conditioned establishment offers a total of 26 accommodation units including 24 rooms and 2 suites. In addition it provides a lobby with a 24-hour reception and check-out services, a hotel safe, a currency exchange facility and lift access as well as a café and bar. It also offers a games room, conference facilities, wireless Internet access, and room and laundry services.

Rooms

The bedrooms are large and in exceptional condition. The decor is traditional 18th century in green and red colours with mahogany furniture and wooden floors. The bathrooms are also in exceptional condition.

Restaurant & Food

The cozinha velha restaurant is installed in the old kitchen of the Palace which at one time served the royal court. Many of the features of that time have been maintained with large fire and roasting spit and copper pots.
