At the beginning of the 20th century the classical French style of
architecture was predominant in Mexico. The founder of the hotel,
Don Fernando Ancira, commissioned the Parisian architect Rangemont
with the construction of this luxury establishment. It was designed
to project sheer elegance and refinement, thus creating a hotel of
extraordinary quality. Renovated in 2007, it comprises a total of
261 rooms, including 27 junior suites, spread across five floors. A
butler service is offered on the 5th floor. Floors 1 to 4 floors
offer standard rooms with the comfort and peace of mind that guests
need to rest. On offer at this hotel are bilingual staff, a lobby
area, a reception, a hotel safe, and lift access, in addition to
several shops, a bar, a hairdresser, a public Internet connection,
a tobacconist, and wireless Internet access. Moreover, there is a
restaurant, a business centre, a concierge, a travel agent, a car
hire service, and a total of 16 conference rooms to take advantage
of. Guests may also make use of the dry cleaner, the medical
assistance, and room, laundry, babysitting, and transport services.
Those arriving at the hotel by car can make use of the car park and
valet parking.
Rooms
The rooms have been totally redecorated and offer guests the
greatest comforts. They are wheelchair accessible and all include
an en suite bathroom with hairdryer, two direct dial telephones,
satellite/ cable TV, a high-speed Internet connection, a desk, and
a coffee machine. Further standard fittings include air
conditioning, a radio, a hire safe, and a double or king-size bed.
The heating is individually adjustable. An iron and ironing board,
