Big Hotels Venice Riviera dei Dogi was originally built in 1537, as a weekend and holiday residence for the Contarini family, and takes its name from the Venetian magistrates of the period. From the mid-seventeenth century until the end of the nineteenth century it was used as a hostelry. Following a lengthy period of decline, skilful conservative restoration work has now restored the building to its original splendour, paying particular attention to the inviting interior garden and making Hotel Riviera dei Dogi very much one of a kind. The convenient parking facilities and the magical atmosphere of the Riviera make the hotel a pleasantly quiet location, perfect for both business trips and holidays. Spread over three different parts of the building that look onto the interior garden, all of the rooms ? although they may vary in terms of type and furnishings ? preserve the historical allure of the setting intact.
