The Leopold opened in June 2007 and is Sheffields first boutique
hotel. No expense has been spared and this historic property offers
a sophisticated setting, accompanied by good food with impeccable
service - it's smart and sophisticated, yet fun and just that
little bit quirky.
Exterior: The hotel is built on the former site of a Grade II
listed Boys Grammar School. Whilst retaining 19th century elegance
and architectural detail, it seamlessly integrates contemporary
design.
Lobby: The lobby is lovely and despite being fairly small in size
is modern, decorated in white with plush red sofas and minimal
furnishings. The large windows from the bar area provide lots of
natural light and the high ceilings of the listed building create
the impression of more space.
Rooms
Each of the fully air-conditioned bedrooms offers every modern
amenity necessary for today's discerning traveller, including a
double bed, interactive and digital-channel TV, hard-wired Internet
with keyboard, iPod docking station, radio, in-room safe, mini
fridge, hairdryer and designer and eco-friendly toiletries. Other
amenities include direct dial telephone, tea and coffee making
facilities, an ironing set, individually regulated air
conditioning, heating and a safe. The en suite bathrooms come with
shower and bath.
Restaurant & Food
Dining at the Leopold can take many forms, from a simple menu in
the relaxed surroundings of the large Bar/Terrace or a more formal
setting in the selection of private dining rooms. The chef's
inventive and casual menus are designed to utilise the best of
local, seasonal products wherever possible, ensuring a natural
blend of flavours and the season's best ingredients
