Pestana Miramar is located within easy walking distance of the charming city of Funchal. It has been built on the site of the historic Hotel Miramar and great care has been taken to retain a pleasantly nostalgic atmosphere in the architecture and landscaping. It has splendid panoramic views over the bay and the natural amphitheatre formed by the mountains surrounding the town. This Hotel comprises several buildings with a total of 58 accommodation units of which 45 are studios and 13 are suites. Guests have access to all facilities on the sprawling holiday complex that comprises the apartment complex as well as the neighbouring hotel. A foyer with a 24-hour reception desk welcomes guests and offers safes, a currency exchange bureau and a lift. Additional facilities on offer include shops, a hairdresser's salon, several bars (including a cocktail bar), a games room and, per complex, a main restaurants as well as an additional 2 air-conditioned à la carte restaurants with highchairs for infants, a pizzeria and a public Internet terminal. Laundry services as well as medical assistance may be taken advantage of as can car parking and garage facilities.

Rooms
The comfortable air-conditioned studios and suites each come with a bathroom, a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, cable TV, a kitchenette, a fridge, a king-sized bed, a hire safe and a combined lounge/ bedroom. The suites additionally come with a separate bedroom.

Restaurant & Food
Guests may select their breakfast, lunch and evening meal from an ample buffet; lunch and the evening meal may alternatively be taken à la carte. Special dietary requirements and individual-specific dishes can be catered to.

Activities & Sport
In the well-kept outdoor areas of each complex is a heated swimming pool with a children's pool, a poolside snack bar and sun loungers and parasols that have been laid out ready for use. In addition, there are 2 indoor pools, a Jacuzzi, a sauna, a steam baths, a gym and a massage service to make use of. Billiards tables are to be found in both buildings and a diverse selection of water sports are on offer from local providers on the beach. An entertainment programme with evening activities and live music provide some variation. Santo da Serra and Palheiro golf courses are 24 km and 8 km from the complexes respectively. Green fee reductions are available at both.
