The luxurious and modern hotel features unique monastic
architecture and a classical interior. It is a member of the
""Leading Hotels of the World"" and was renovated in 2005. The
hotel achieves a subtle blend of intimacy and grandeur and has been
designed as an idyllic retreat for the discerning guest. On offer
are a total of 273 rooms and suites, of which four are
disability-friendly rooms, spread across four storeys. Amongst the
facilities count a foyer with 24-hour reception desk, a safe, a
cloakroom, a currency exchange counter and lift access. Within
exclusive surroundings, guests are presented with a choice of
restaurants ranging from modern European cuisine or Italian
gastronomy with special themed nights and live music, to the
sophistication of the Cocktail Piano Bar. In addition a newspaper
stand, a hairdresser, a games room, a TV lounge, conference
facilities, and a public Internet connection are on hand for
guests' use. Room and laundry services are also available, and for
younger guests there is a playground and kid's club. A car park may
also be used by guests arriving by car.
Rooms
The superbly appointed rooms come with either a balcony or terrace,
with the majority offering views over the pool or the sea. Standard
fittings include a private marble bathroom with a telephone,
bathrobes, a hairdryer, and a shaver socket. The air conditioning
is individually adjustable, and all rooms further include a
minibar, satellite/ cable TV, a Sony Playstation, a direct dial
telephone, and a hire safe. The 11 family rooms have a lounge
(without partition) and a balcony facing inland. The 46 junior
suites are spacious rooms with an elegantly appointed lounge
(without partition) and extra amenities, 23 of these come with a
terrace facing inland, 11 have a balcony with sea views, and 12
offer an extensive veranda with a private pool. The Presidential,
the Dionysus and the Akamas suites offer separate, luxurious
lounges and bedrooms; the Dionysus also has its own swimming
pool.
Restaurant & Food
Guests may serve themselves from the buffets at breakfast, lunch
and dinner. At lunchtime and in the evenings, guests may also
choose to select dishes from the à la carte menu, and
there is also a set menu at dinner. Guests may book either a half
board, a full board, or a bed and breakfast stay.
Activities & Sport
Leisure options include the Armonia Spa, which is open all year
round and features a fully equipped and professionally supervised
gym, a Jacuzzi, and an indoor swimming pool. The sauna and hamam
complete the anti-stress programme aimed at guests' relaxation,
which furthermore includes sophisticated massage and beauty
treatments. The huge swimming pool and the beach invites guests to
relax or to try out a wide range of water sports activities. A
tennis court may also be made use of. For golf lovers, special
arrangements can be made at the Aphrodite Hills, Tsada or Secret
Valley golf clubs, all of which are about 15 km from the hotel.
During the major school holidays there is additionally a separate
entertainment programme for kids and teenagers.
