Exterior: Located in the city's fashionable Back Bay neighbourhood,
the hotel is a 1920's architectural landmark, the former Boston
Police Headquarters. This $60 million preservation project stays
true to the original building, yet offers a modern lift to
correspond with its new life as a luxury hotel.
Lobby: The lobby is welcoming, with works of art and sculpture that
will make you stop and study the pieces. There is a large lounge
area for relaxing or meeting with friends.
Rooms
The elegant rooms, with soft colours and fine fabrics, each come
with 2 full size double beds in a room and an en suite bathroom
with a hairdryer and a bathrobe. A direct dial telephone, a TV, a
radio, Internet access, a small fridge, a coffee maker, and ironing
equipment also feature as standard in the carpeted rooms, as well
as a king-size bed, centrally regulated air conditioning and
heating, and a hire safe.
Restaurant & Food
The Grille serves high quality, popular American favourites for
breakfast, lunch and dinner. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday
from 7am-2pm. The dining area also extends into a seasonal open air
terrace. This restaurant was also recently named in the Conde Nast
Traveller Magazine's Hot List of the top 80 restaurants in the
world. There is an Irish bar on the lower lever, complete with an
old individual jail cell. There is also a coffee and lounge
bar.
