The beach hotel was built in 1895 and offers a total of 49 rooms. Facilities at the inn include a hotel safe, a cloakroom, lift access, a newspaper stand and a bar/lounge. Business travellers are sure to appreciate the business centre, conference facilities and Internet access. Those arriving by car may leave their vehicle in the hotel car park.

All rooms have en suite bathrooms with a shower/tub combination, makeup/shaving mirror, complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer. Amenities include pillowtop double beds featuring premium bedding. The inn has a private beach, and for a fee guests can use the outdoor tennis court. There is one outdoor swimming pool, with sun loungers and parasols laid out ready for use.

The island is easily accessed from interstate 75 from Tampa, Orlando (via I-4) Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Points North or Florida East Coast. Guests can travel south on I-95 and then take the I-75 north. From I-75 - Take Exit 131 (Daniels Parkway) west to Summerlin Road. Turn left onto Summerlin Road to the Sanibel Causeway. Cross over Sanibel Causeway and turn right at the four-way stop onto Periwinkle Way. Continue on Periwinkle until reaching the intersection of Tarpon Bay Road. Turn left onto Tarpon Bay and continue straight to West Gulf Drive. Turn right onto West Gulf Drive, and the hotel is approximately 1 mile on the left.
