Heron Island is a true coral cay right on the World Heritage-listed
Great Barrier Reef. Here, guests can swim straight off the sandy
beach to an endless garden of coral, where the waters are literally
teeming with beautifully coloured fish and marine life. The
family-friendly resort has 109 guest rooms, and facilities include
a reception hall, hotel safe, currency exchange, Internet access,
laundry service and, for an additional fee, a kids' club.
Conference facilities are also available. Launch transfer: The
launch operates daily between Heron Island and Gladstone Marina. A
complimentary coach will transport guests between Gladstone Marina
and Gladstone Airport. This service does not operate on Christmas
Day.
Rooms
The resort has a total of 109 guest rooms in 6 different grades to
offer a peaceful stay. They are The Beach House, Point Suites,
Wistari Suites, Heron Beachside Suites, Reef Suites and Turtle
Rooms. All the rooms are well furnished and include a hairdryer,
radio, refrigerator, tea and coffee making facilities, an ironing
set and a balcony or terrace.
Restaurant & Food
Shearwater Restaurant offers breakfast and lunch in buffet style,
while dinner features a 3-course table d'hote, Saturday seafood
buffet and mid-week Aussie BBQ. Pandanus Bar and Lounge features
panoramic reef views with a cocktail bar, entertainment lounge,
dance floor and a mezzanine level library area.
Activities & Sport
Guests may enjoy diving or pool/snooker (fees apply for both).
Tennis is also available, and the resort has an outdoor swimming
pool.

Reception is open from 8:30 am to 7 pm (8:30 am to 6 pm during
autumn/winter). Helicopter: Australian Helicopters depart from
Gladstone Airport daily, on demand during daylight hours. The
flight time to the resort is 30 minutes.
