The largest hotel in Queenstown, and perfectly located on the lake
shore. Suitable for all groups and individuals looking for a good
standard accommodation. There is an outdoor swimming pool and spa
pool on the same floor as the restaurant. A very popular hotel
among all nationalities.
Exterior: A white concrete, 12-storey 1970s building, renovated in
the mid 1990s.
Lobby: A medium-sized lobby with some comfortable seating and
Internet kiosks. There is plenty of tour information and ideas for
things to do around town.
Rooms
The hotel's basic budget-style rooms are not lake-facing. All rooms
come with a private bathroom with a shower/bathtub and a hairdryer,
and offer a double or king-size bed. The rooms also come equipped
with a direct dial telephone, TV, Internet access, a radio, safe,
minibar, fridge, ironing set and tea and coffee making facilities
as standard. Further standard features of accommodation units
include individually regulated heating and a balcony/terrace.
Restaurant & Food
The hotel has many dining concepts to ensure guests' catering
requirements are memorable. Ben Lomond is a stylish casual
restaurant offering delicious contemporary New Zealand cuisine
serving a continental breakfast buffet and à la carte
dinner. The Ben Lomond restaurant has superb views of Lake
Wakatipu, the Remarkables range and the town centre.
Activities & Sport
There is a heated outdoor swimming pool with spectacular views over
Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables, a private sauna and a hot tub,
and in-house masseurs are available (fees apply). There is a nearby
sandy/pebble beach.
Directions, How to get
there
From Queenstown Airport (15 minute drive southwest), turn right
onto Kawarau Road, left onto Frankton Road which becomes Stanley
Road. From Stanley Road turn left onto Shotover Steet which becomes
Lake Esplanade. The hotel is on your right.
