The Hotel Charsfield

The hotel is housed within a magnificent heritage-listed Victorian building. It was renovated in 2006 and comprises a total of 41 rooms. Facilities on offer to guests at this air-conditioned establishment include a lobby area with a 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a cloakroom, a games room and conference facilities. It also features an elegant restaurant and bar, a beautifully appointed reading room with a book swapping service, magazines, newspapers and a PC that offers free wireless Internet access. For an additional fee, guests may take advantage of the 24-hour room service and laundry services as well as the parking facilities.

All deluxe rooms were refurbished in 2006 and have an elegant and traditional style of décor. The rooms offer an en suite bathroom with shower, wireless Internet access, tea and coffee making facilities, ironing equipment, a hairdryer, alarm clock radio, a minibar, foxtel TV, and individually adjustable reverse-cycle air conditioning and heating. Furthermore, a direct dial telephone, a hi-fi system and a double bed are provided in all accommodation as standard.

The restaurant is open daily for breakfast, and guests have the choice between a continental buffet breakfast or a full breakfast cooked fresh to order. Breakfast is served from 7 am and 10 am approximately, and lunch is served Sunday to Friday from midday until 2.30 pm. Dinner is served every evening from 6 pm until 10 pm.

The hotel has an on-site beauty treatment room offering massages (charges apply), manicures, pedicures, facials and wraps and sports enthusiasts will enjoy a work-out, free of charge, in the fully equipped professional gym (off-site). It also features a historic snooker room with a full-sized table as well as a Bocce pitch and chess and other board games are available.

A taxi from the airport to the hotel door costs approximately USD 70.00. A return shuttle bus from the airport may be arranged with the hotel for approximately USD 30.00 per person, or around USD 18.00 per person one-way. Guests arriving by car from the airport should take the city link to the city and then take the King Street exit, then the St Kilda Road exit.
