Playa Tortuga Hotel & Beach Resort

Built in 2008, this relaxing hotel comprises 117 rooms and has been designed to provide an excellent service in a casual Caribbean atmosphere. Fully air-conditioned, the hotel includes a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service, as well as an on-site bar and restaurant. Guests can enjoy complimentary wireless Internet access and conference facilities for meetings and other activities. Room and laundry services are provided and guests arriving by car can leave their vehicles in the car park. The hotel also provides a shuttle service for guests. It must be booked 48 hours in advance and incurs an additional fee.

The guest rooms have been designed for comfort, with an attention to detail helping to make guests' stays as pleasant as possible. The hotel is surrounded by spectacular natural scenery and all rooms include private balconies with magnificent views of the sea. The en suite rooms come with amenities like a hairdryer, direct dial telephone, TV set, radio, mini fridge, ironing set and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel has 2 restaurants: One is located at the end of the pier deck and offers panoramic views, including of the bottom of the sea, allowing guests to simultaneously dine and admire this ecological paradise's exotic marine life. Delicious local and international cuisine is served on an à la carte basis. Breakfast is served in buffet style.

The hotel grounds feature an open-air swimming pool overlooking the sea and a children's pool for younger guests. The on-site gym offers a range of workout machines and parasols are on hand to provide some shade from the sun. Guests looking to get active can try their hand at some water sports on the nearby beach: Sports available include motorboating, diving and surfing, and fees apply for all. Guests looking for further amusement can take part in one of the hotel's tours.

Pets are not permitted in the hotel. Check-in is at 3 pm, and check-out at 12 noon.

Getting to Bocas del Toro from Panama City or Costa Rica: Take a direct flight to Isla Colon, or travel overland as far as Admiral and then take a taxi or ferry boat to the island.
