Opened in 2003, this 15-floor designer hotel is surrounded by a sprawling garden complex and comprises a total of 451 rooms. Facilities include an elegant foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, a sitting area and lifts in addition to shops including a jewellers and a boutique, 2 bars and 4 excellent restaurants with non-smoking areas (buffet, Asian, Italian à la carte, garden restaurant). Furthermore, the hotel is linked to a vast banqueting and conference centre and offers room service as well as a kids' club for the hotel's younger visitors (2 to 7 years of age, Wednesday until Sunday, 10 am - 12 pm and 12:45 pm - 6:30 pm, parents should sign in and sign out their children). Those arriving by car may take advantage of the hotel garage facilities.

The comfortable, stylish, air-conditioned rooms come with an en suite bathroom with a shower, a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, Internet access, a minibar (for an additional fee), a hire safe and a balcony (according to the booking, with beautiful views out over the town). The hotel is accessible to wheelchair users and features rooms for disabled guests (on request).

Occasional evening shows are put on to provide some variation.

InterContinental Malta offers a wide range of facilities for children including a supervised Kids' Club with arts, crafts, games, a PlayStation and a DVD area. Kids' menus are available, as are highchairs, cots and babysitting services and family rooms and suites. The InterContinental Beach Club and the lagoon styled panoramic outdoor swimming are also ideal for swimming and playing.

Take road to Marsa from Airport, straight to St Julians on the main principals roads. Take turning into Paceville at lights and follow signs to InterContinental.
