Hrauneyjar Highland Guesthouse is a mountain lodge in a traditional wooden building and a great base for all those travellers interested in exploring the beautiful wilderness of the Icelandic Highlands. There's lots of fantastic activities - dog-sledding on glaciers, fishing, cave explorations etc. and places to visit nearby. Glaciers, Volcanoes, Mountains, Waterfalls and Thermal Pools can all be seen and of course the Northern lights might make an appearance during your stay. There's a gas station, an information center, a fishing center, service facilities, a TV room, and a shop selling an assortment of goods and food articles at the lodge.
Situated upon the entrance into the Highlands of Iceland 64°11´48,56 N and 19°17´07.31 W. This mountain lodge is on the verge of where civilization ends and reaches transcends to the barren yet beautiful and mystic interior. Surprisingly enough only 150 km from Reykjavik and with an excellent paved road providing all year-access in any kind of vehicle, it's easy to reach and find. Please note that this hotel is not located in Hella, but on a road branching off to the Highlands.
