The city hotel was built in the 1908 by architect Charles Robert Ashbee, an English designer and entrepreneur, and a prominent figure in the arts and crafts movement. The charming hotel was renovated in 2010 to provide the finest accommodation facilities in Sicily, with fantastic views and 25 guest rooms. Guests are welcomed to the air-conditioned establishment in a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services, a hotel safe and lift access to the upper floors. There is also a café, bar and breakfast room, and wireless Internet access, room service and a laundry service are all offered for additional fees.

Each guest room is a grand statement of colour and style, featuring fine fabrics and antique furnishings with contemporary touches. No two rooms or suites are alike and each one offers an LCD TV with Sky and satellite channels, free wireless Internet access, central heating and air conditioning, a telephone, safe, minibar and radio. Each accommodation unit also has a double bed and an en suite bathroom with shower, hairdryer, mirror, bathroom scales, bathrobe, slippers and courtesy kit. The rooms are accessed using an electronic key card.

Breakfast is served each morning.

Guests may take a dip in the outdoor swimming pool and enjoy a drink from the poolside snack bar (fees apply) while relaxing on the sun loungers provided. The nearby beach is sandy.

By car: take the A18 motorway and exit for Taormina. Continue straight ahead towards Porta Messina and the centre of Taormina. At the roundabout, take the second exit and continue straight ahead.
