This family-friendly club resort is a tropical lakeside paradise set on the beautiful 45-acre Barefoot Bay. Guests can sail away to the inviting Caribbean, where lazy days are devoted to sun and sand, swaying palm trees and island foods. They can celebrate the spirit of tropical locales from the legacy of colonial forts to lively markets and enjoy the beaches, exotic birds, relaxing strolls or even a snooze in a hammock. All of the resort's 2,112 guest rooms are arranged into 6 villages, Trinidad North, Trinidad South, Martinique, Barbados, Aruba and Jamaica, and spread over 200 lushly landscaped acres. Each village is a welcoming collection of pastel-coloured 2-storey buildings clustered around its own swimming pool, all surrounding the white-sand beaches of Barefoot Bay. The resort's main lobby, with 24-hour reception including Registration and Guest Services, is located inside the Custom House, a charming tropical pavilion designed to resemble the reception area of an exotic Caribbean retreat. The Custom House is physically separated from many of the resort villages, and it may be some distance from the room. If guests do not have a car, a shuttle is available to take them to their room. The hub of the Resort is Old Port Royale, where guests will discover dining, a lounge, shopping and a concierge desk. When it's time to eat, there is something for everyone, from quick snacks to a full-service restaurant, and even a food court themed like a quaint Caribbean town. Further facilities at the air-conditioned themed hotel include a hotel safe for valuables, currency exchange facilities, a newspaper stand and lift access to the upper floors. There is a children's playground for younger guests, and bicycles may be hired for a fee. Room and laundry services are also offered.

The guest rooms are all carpeted and come with an en suite bathroom with shower, bathtub and hairdryer, and a king-size bed or two double beds. Further fittings in the rooms include a direct dial telephone, a radio, satellite/cable TV and Internet access. Also featuring within the rooms are in-room wall safes and ironing facilities. Air conditioning and heating are both individually controlled. Preferred rooms are located close to the swimming pool and other hotel facilities.

The resort hotel has 6 heated outdoor swimming pools located throughout the island villages. The main pool complex at Old Port Royale is a swashbuckling adventure, themed like the colonial Spanish fortress Fuentes del Morro. It offers 2 water slides; one is over 80-feet-long and zips through the inside of the fort. The pool also features zero-depth entry, water cannons and two 12-person spas. There is also a poolside snack bar. Children less than 48 inches tall can enjoy the adjacent water play area, which includes squirt hoses, a large bucket that pours water from above and 3 additional smaller water slides.
