One of the newer hotels on Ocean Drive after a two-year,
top-to-bottom renovation of its dramatic lobby and guest rooms. The
hotel offers first-class hotel service, refined and tasteful
surroundings, and a great location.
Exterior: Designed by acclaimed architect Albert Anis, the Winter
Haven?s glamorous façade was first unveiled on Ocean Drive
in 1939. Originally crafted as a simple yet sophisticated ocean
front hotel, much of the historic soul and elegance of the Art Deco
movement remains today.
Lobby: Open and light, two-story lobby featuring a Martini-Bar.
Stealing from a time of simplicity, hushed conversation, and stiff
drinks, Winter Haven?s bar is a throwback to a true
mid-twentieth-century martini joint. Located in the lobby and
extending to the front patio, there?s something curiously
attractive about the carefully preserved black rounded marble top,
original wood fascia, and stainless foot rails. The bar also pulls
much of its character from the same dramatic terrazzo floor that
adorns the soaring tiered lobby.
Rooms
The Art Deco-inspired guest rooms were crafted for both relaxation
and unrestricted enjoyment, offering a variety of gorgeous views -
from the open ocean to the sparkling city lights of Miami Beach.
Each room features an en suite bathroom with shower, bathtub and
hairdryer, a double or king-size bed, and individually regulated
air conditioning and heating. Other in-room amenities include a
direct dial telephone, satellite TV, Internet access, a safe,
minibar, tea and coffee making facilities and an ironing set.
Restaurant & Food
No restaurant on property, but countless options in walking
distance.
Activities & Sport
There is an outdoor swimming pool with sun terrace at the hotel,
and the golf course at Miami Beach Club is around a 10-minute drive
from the hotel. Sun loungers and parasols can be hired for a fee on
the sandy beach.
