This hotel was built in 1897 for a well known York mill owner. The hotel is situated just a ten minute walk from the centre of York and is perfectly situated for both the city and the surrounding countryside. 1 kms to city centre 45 kms to the nearest airport (leeds/bradford) 2 km to the nearest station (york) 1 minute walk to the nearest bus stop 32 km to the nearest fair site (harrogate)

The 2-storey main building and the 3-storey neighbouring building were built in 1858 and have a total of 69 rooms, of which 8 are singles, 54 are doubles and 2 are suites. The facilities on offer at this hotel include a 24-hour reception, a lobby, a hotel safe, a currency exchange desk, a lift and a café. In addition, a bar, a TV lounge and a restaurant are also available. Further facilities include room and laundry services as well as medical assistance and parking facilities.

Rooms
The rooms all vary in size and have all been recently refurbished to a good standard with traditional decor. The rooms have all the usual facilities that one would expect from a three star hotel. Rooms are available in both the main hotel building and also within a separate annex building across the road.

Restaurant & Food
The restaurant offers a different menu each evening, offering a selection of either English or continental cuisine. There is also a bar which offers snacks throughout the day, and is decorated in an art nouveau style.

Directions, How to get there
By car: from the North (A1), exit at Junction 49 (Dishforth Interchange) and continue ahead onto the A1(M). Leave the A1(M) at junction 47, then at roundabout take the 1st exit onto New Road A59 (signposted York). Continue ahead onto York Road A59, entering Kirk Hammerton. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A59 (signposted York). Turn right onto Dalton Terrace (signposted Bypass A64, Selby A19). At the T-junction, turn right onto The Mount A1036 (signposted Leeds A64). Turn right onto Driffield Terrace and the hotel is on the left-hand side.
