The hotel opened in 1912, although parts of it are almost 400 years
old. There were major renovation works in 2007, and the hotel has
105 rooms, including 38 suites, spread over 6 floors. Facilities
include a traditional lounge and lobby with 24-hour reception and
check-out service, a fine-dining restaurant and the distinctive
American Bar, popular with royalty and a great spot for a light
meal. Of special note is the historical courtyard with tables for
al fresco dining. A hotel safe, currency exchange facilities,
cloakroom, lift access and café are also at guests'
disposal. The conference facilities and Internet access may be of
use to business guests, while room and laundry/pressing services
are also provided (fees apply to the latter). Those arriving by car
may leave their vehicle in the car park for a fee.
