The hotel is located in the historic city of Polonnaruwa (at the heart of the cultural triangle), on the banks of the Giritale reservoir. The region has 120 species of birds and a wonderful array of mammals, monkeys and reptiles. The countryside offers beautiful scenes of paddy fields, tropical jungles and rural village life, ideal for adventurers.

The recent renovation (2005) has elevated this property to a superior tourist category. An Ayurvedic centre is located on-site and guests may also use the Angsana spa at the neighbouring hotel.
Exterior: A low-rise modern building with outdoor pool overlooking Giritale Lake.
Lobby: The lobby is large is size and offers seating overlooking the reservoir.
