Constructed in 1730, the hotel comprises a total of 25 rooms, of
which one is a single and two are suites. Amongst the
air-conditioned business hotel's facilities count a foyer with
24-hour reception, a bar, a café, restaurant, conference
facilities, and a TV lounge. Further offerings include the public
Internet connection, a W-LAN access point, and both room and
laundry services. Bicycle hire is also available, and there is
parking for those arriving by car. Today, the natural terraces
around the convent are the perfect place to enjoy its tranquillity:
somewhere to read a good book in the shade of a cypress or take a
refreshing swim in the pool. The original structure of the building
has been maintained, together with the special ambience that
evolved there. The chapel has been converted into a library with
information about the region and its inhabitants. There is also an
area for students of nature conservation.
Rooms
The rooms are distributed across two storeys, and each has its own
characteristic blend of quality materials and fine workmanship. All
accommodation in this hotel come with an en suite bathroom with
hairdryer, a king-size bed, a direct dial telephone, satellite/
cable TV, an Internet connection, a minibar, and either a balcony
or terrace. The heating and air conditioning are individually
adjustable.
Restaurant & Food
Guests may serve themselves at the breakfast buffet. At lunchtime
and in the evenings, guests may select dishes from an à la carte
menu. Bed and breakfast is bookable. In Begur guests will find
dishes typical for the region, consisting of fresh vegetables, sea
food, and a wide range of meat and regional sausages. A good meal
should always be accompanied by a good wine, and the region is
proud of its own "Denominación de Origen Empordà-Costa Brava" with
its excellent wines and champagnes. Dishes range from the
traditional "Suquet" of rock fish, black rice, and "garoinada"
(pasta with sea urchins), to the "Mar y Montaña" (Sea and Mountain:
chicken with shrimps). Cuisine featuring mushrooms and snails is
also popular. The gastronomic calendar is adapted according to the
season.
Activities & Sport
With a whole range of possibilities to choose from, guests may
enjoy discovering the Mediterranean and an exquisite place to
relax. Regardless of the desired activity, be it walking, sailing,
horse?riding, a cycling tour, or even a trip in a hot-air balloon,
professionals are on hand to help organise and assist guests.
Within the hotel grounds there is a swimming pool with a poolside
snack bar and both sun loungers and parasols laid out ready for
use. Further leisure facilities include a sauna and a Jacuzzi.
Guests may also take advantage of the opportunity to explore the
coast and marine life here with a wide range of water sporting
activities, including water skiing, jet skiing, motor boating
diving, surfing, windsurfing, catamaran sailing, sailing, canoeing
and pedal boating. It is also possible to visit the natural marine
reserve of Ses Negres with its bays and beaches not usually
otherwise accessible. A further experience to be treasured is the
possibility of observing whale species and the red coral reefs.
Also on offer is tennis, basketball, volleyball, golf, and
miniature golf. Guests may further take advantage of an organised
tour through flora and fauna, experiencing aromatic plants, the
Mediterranean fauna, ancient trees, the indigenous birds, and the
