Six Senses Duxton was originally built as Singaporean shophouses
and has a very particular architectural style that dates back to
the late 19th century. They were traditionally built as the home of
Chinese Straits merchants and their families. Business was
conducted from the front room on the ground floor, while the family
occupied the rear of the building and the rooms on the floors
above. The hotel façade of Six Senses Duxton is very
reminiscent of the “Chinese Baroque
Style†which became fashionable in Singapore during the
turn of the last century, through the application of European
classical elements.
Rooms
The hotel has 38 rooms and 11 suites, with the original traditional
oriental décor reflecting
Singapore’s colonial past. All attic Studio
rooms have queen-size beds with ensuite bathrooms and a walk-in
shower. The more spacious street-facing Deluxe Rooms offer a mix of
twin, queen and king-size beds, in addition to a comfortable
sitting room area. Duplex suites are a rare find in Singapore and
are ideal for our longer-stay guests. They offer a mix of twin,
queen, and king-size beds on the mezzanine level and have a large
sitting room. Garden suites offer a truly residential sense of
space, as well as your own courtyard garden. A bedroom with a
king-size bed, a separate sitting room, and an ensuite bathroom
with either a walk-in shower or bath/shower combination.
Restaurant & Food
Mars Bar menu features a myriad of concoctions, all made from fresh
juices and quirky ingredients. We have always believed in going
fresh in order to provide an authenticity and depth of flavor
unattainable through packet juices.
