The hotel is situated near the gateway to Tongariro National Park. It is conveniently located at the corner of Millar Street and State Highway 4, on the road between Auckland and Wellington. The hotel is surrounded by magnificent mountains and lush native forest, which makes it a perfect getaway spot for all travellers.

This is a great place to stay for those wanting to explore the Tongariro national park and all its activity options, from the world famous full day hike, or multi day hike. Superb Mountain biking trails including the 42 Traverse Mountain bike trail, and some of the best trout fishing in the world. In winter its an excellent base for the local Ski fields of Ruapehu and Whakapapa. This lodge is ideally suited for those wanting to take part in the local regions activities rather than a luxurious hotel. A communal and friendly feel. The lodge can provide transport for those needing to get to the start of the tracks and pick up from the end of them at an additional cost. There is also a hot spa pool to relieve those aching limbs.
Exterior: A low rise wood and stone building.
Lobby: A small check in and recption area with helpful and friendly staff.

Rooms
The hotel offers a variety of different rooms, suited to each guest's particular needs. All rooms come with an en suite shower and a double bed, as well as Internet access and in-room heating as standard. Each room is also equipped with a mini fridge, a washing machine and an ironing set. Tea and coffee making facilities, towels and toiletries are provided for guests. All rooms have their own terrace.

Restaurant & Food
The spiral cafe and bar serving meals and drinks. There is also a fully equipped commual kitchen for self catering option. There is a large communal lounge and TV area.
