One of the more recent entries into the luxury hotel segment of
Mauritius and already a contender for one of the top properties on
the island. A perfect choice for those wishing to have a more
private and tranquil holiday, with the villas each offers an ample
amount of space as well as luxuries such as the private plunge pool
and outdoor day bed. Other facilities include the main pools
(Californian edge and infinity edge), a full spa with twelve
over-water treatment rooms, and well-equipped gym housing state of
the art equipment, outdoor boxing area and 25 metre lap pool. Kids
are not forgotten at this property with separate areas for younger
children and teens. The children's' area features a small wading
pool, amphitheatre, playground and rest area whilst the teen's area
houses a computer station, video game area with Xbox and Nintendo
Wii, pool table and large screen television.
Exterior: The resort consists of separate buildings housing the 123
villas and residences and are dotted around the property. A bridge
connects one section of the resort to the other over the lagoon and
the infinity-edge pool is located on the resort's private island,
Iles aux Chats. Adjacent to the resort is the 7,440 yard, 18-hole,
par-72 golf course, designed by Ernie Els.
Lobby: The open-air lobby is large and spacious, overlooking the
water, with the reception area, arrivals lounge and sundries shop
adjacent. The business centre and cultural centre, featuring an
indoor library, is also connected to the lobby.
Rooms
Situated on the mainland, Garden Pool Villas offer beautiful views
of their own private landscaped garden. Large windows and doors
open onto an outdoor living and dining area that more than doubles
the size of the villa. An additional 100 square metres (1,076
square feet) of outdoor space includes a plunge pool, a daybed, a
covered patio with dining area that seats four and an exclusive
garden. Villas are decorated in soft natural hues, accented with
wood, with an exotic blend of contemporary Mauritian style.
Additional amenities include tea/coffee-making facilities, ironing
facilities, satellite television with 39 channels, a 94-centimetre
(37-inch) plasma screen television with DVD player, private bar,
iPod docking station and wireless Internet connectivity. The
bathroom features natural stone floors, a deep soaking tub, a
walk-in closet, a private WC and private exotic outdoor garden
shower.
Restaurant & Food
The main restaurant is located near the lobby and is open for
breakfast and dinner and focuses on modern French cuisine. Another
restaurant is located near the main pool,over looking the beach,
and focuses on Pan-Asian cuisine, featuring both a sushi bar and
teppanyaki grill. An Italian speciality restaurant overlooks the
lagoon waters and lastly, a more casual option is located in the
clubhouse and is open for breakfast and lunch.
