This is a hotel that in some ways is not a hotel! The building is beautiful and the restorations works have kept the atmosphere of a monastery untouched. It is very quiet and pleasant in our opinion but rooms and service are basic. The hotel can organise a shuttle bus from/to Pisa airport for a minimal charge.
Exterior: The hotel has been transformed from an ancient 12th century monastery and preserves, after excellent restoration works, most of its original features.The main building is square shaped and has an internal garden. Corridors go alongside the garden and the building and give access to the rooms. There is also an annex, connected to the main building, where some rooms of the same standards are. The building is on 2 floors only.
Lobby: The lobby is very small and stays at the right side from the entrance. On the left side there is a small sitting area with modern white sofas and the lift to the upper floor. If you walk straight from the entrance you will enter into the patio/garden area.

Rooms are standard, with basic, 'arte povera' furniture and facilities and neutral decor. Some rooms are quite small because they were the original monks' rooms! Bathrooms are in good condition, all with shower.

Restaurant is not available. The breakfast room is on the ground floor and serves continental breakfast.
