Enjoying a wonderful central position at the heart of historic Florence, this city hotel lies on the Piazza Santa Maria Novella. Due to its fabulous location many of the city's attractions are to be found nearby. A short stroll will take visitors to the Duomo, the Campanile di Giotto, the Uffizi Gallery as well as other important and historical sights of interest. Links to the public transport network can easily be reached on foot.

Description

Built in 1400, this hotel is spread over 6 floors and has 102 rooms, of which 10 are single rooms, 87 are double rooms and 5 are suites. Guests may make use of the foyer with 24-hour reception desk, a safe, a currency exchange desk and a lift. A bar, an air-conditioned à la carte restaurant with highchairs for infants are included in the facilities available. Five conference rooms and a public Internet terminal are also available. Garage service at the clients' disposal. From June to September the roof top terrace and pool are open for swimming. This is the only roof top pool in the historical city center.

Rooms

The tastefully decorated rooms come with an en suite bathroom with hairdryer, coffee facilities, a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, an Internet connection, a radio, a minibar/ fridge, carpeting, air conditioning and central heating as well as a safe. Rooms either overlook the square of the church of Santa Maria Novella or its cloisters. A wing of the hotel was originally a wing of the cloister.

Restaurant & Food

The restaurant is located on the ground floor and welcomes both gala or formal dinners and casual ones. One room is rectangular and one of its longer sides looks out onto an internal garden, through an enormous window. The other smaller room looks out onto the internal garden through an unusual rhomboidal window.

Activities & Sport

The roof has a splendid swimming pool, a snack bar as well as a sun terrace with sun loungers laid out ready for use. During the months of July and August every Thursday night: Minerva Giò the pool aperitive with live music.

From Florence Airport: take the public bus or a taxi. From Pisa Airport: take the train to Santa Maria Novella Station and walk 5 min. By car: either exit Firenze Certosa or Firenze Nord and follow directions to City Center and then Santa Maria Novella Station
