The hotel has use of an extensive leisure centre (The Leeside
Leisure Centre) situated next door, with swimming pool, sauna, gym
and massage rooms.Please note that, during the jazz festival
periods, guests may incur some slight noise disturbance.
Exterior: This is a large, traditional, five-storey building.
Lobby: The lobby is medium in size, with a seating area.
Rooms
The bedrooms are well-maintained and in good condition. They are
medium in size, and offer traditional comforts with a contemparory
feel. All rooms offer tea and coffee-making facilities, along with
iron and ironing board and trouser press.
Restaurant & Food
Breakfast is served in the Riverview Restaurant each morning with
magnificent and unique views looking over Cork's famous River Lee.
While dining in the restaurant spectacular views of Cork's bridges
and city centre shopping areas can be seen. The Met Cafe Bar is
situated at the front of the hotel, along MacCurtain Street. It is
a spacious, elegant and traditional style bar, split over two
levels. The upper level boasts a large screen for those Champions
League or Heineken Cup evenings, and the lower level has a more
serene feel to it, ideal for a quiet chat or negotiating your way
through a few more chapters of your latest novel. Lunch and dinner
is served here.

Leisure facilities include a sauna, a solarium, a gym and an indoor

Directions, How to get
there
By Car: From Cork Airport - On exiting Cork Airport you will
approach a roundabout, on the main Cork to Kinsale road (N27). Take
the first exit from this roundabout signposted for Cork City.Go
straight down the hill, passing through the two sets of traffic
lights, until you reach the large roundabout at the bottom of the
hill. Take the third exit from this roundabout, signposted for City
Centre (N27). Continue straight on through four sets of traffic
lights. You should now be in the second lane from the left, and be
turning left at the next junction (after the Elysian Building - 18
storey building on your right). Following this you need to turn
right at the next junction, as to cross the river. Continue
straight on now, until you come to a T-junction, at which you need
to turn left. You should see the Gresham Metropole Hotel on the
opposite bank of the river. At the next set of traffic lights, turn
right to cross the river, go straight through the next junction,
and then turn right at the following set. You are now on MacCurtain
Street, the Gresham Metropole Hotel is situated 200m along this on
the right hand side, and you will find a set-down area outside for
your convenience.
