Mayang Sari Beach Resort on Bintan island, in the Riau Archipelago,
is a tranquil heaven only 50 minutes from Singapore. Set against a
picturesque bay of pristine beach and crystal clear waters, Mayang
Sari Beach Resort comprises 50 beach-front chalets, all with
private terrace offering a choice of sea or garden view. It
combines the pleasures of simple luxuries with the comforts of
modern amenities.
Great for family weekend getaways, Bintan Island's beaches, nature
trails, resorts, and golf courses are best enjoyed with an
overnight stay. Shop for local snacks, dried seafood, and some
handicrafts at Tanjung Pinang and Pasar Oleh Oleh. Get pampered
with a spa service, or try one of the eco tours.
Rooms
The thatched-roof chalets are arranged in blocks of 4, all with
private verandas offering either a garden or sea view. All chalets
feature village-style architecture, with unique decor and aromatic
theme. For guests' comfort, the chalets are equipped with modern
amenities such as a private bathroom with bath tub and shower,
direct dial telephone, individually adjustable air conditioning as
well as a ceiling fan and complimentary coffee/tea making
facilities. Rooms feature either two single beds or one queen-sized
bed, and an extra bed can be accommodated if required (subject to a
fee).
Restaurant & Food
The Spice Restaurant is the main restaurant at the resort. With its
rustic charm and Batavian colonial reminiscence, the restaurant
offers a variety of Indonesian dishes, as well as other Asian and
Continental cuisines. Another restaurant is the Belle Ile - a
small, beach restaurant and bar located on the resort's seafront.
The menu features dishes from Southern France, Corsica, Italy and
other Mediterranean cuisines. Other options include off-site
restaurants such as the Kelong Seafood Restaurant, which is built
on stilts just above the sea, offering seafood dining, and the Baan
Aarya Thai Restaurant - serving authentic Thai cuisine in a cosy
and charming pavilion setting. (Reservation is a must as seating is
limited).
Activities & Sport
The resort has its own spa - the Kedaton Spa. The spa services (all
subject to fees) include the use of ancient Indonesian recipes from
Jamu and other Asian folk traditions, combining exquisite oils and
spices into soothing revitalising blends of exotic textures and
invigorating aromas. Though the resort does not have a pool or gym,
guests can make use of the recreational facilities at the nearby
Nirwana Beach Resort. Facilities include the Infinity Pool with
hydro-massage jets, a jogging track, a fully-equipped gymnasium, a
kid's club and playground, billiards, table tennis, an
entertainment and games centre, as well as numerous beach and water
sports, such as beach volleyball and banana boating (subject to
fees). The beach is sandy and comes equipped with sun loungers and
parasols (subject to fees). Cycling is also offered (subject to
fees).
Directions, How to get
there
Guests need to take a high-speed catamaran from Singapore's Tanah
Merah Ferry Terminal (TMFT). The journey to Bintan Island takes
about 55 minutes. The transfer to and from the ferry terminal will
be provided by the resort. The resort should be informed in advance
as to when guests are arriving so that the necessary arrangements
can be made for the transfer. Please note - there are no buses or
taxis on the island.
