This conference and resort hotel offers its guests unique
infrastructure and service and comprises a total of 100 rooms. The
estate was created by Vincent de Cantenac and was in the property
of a great Bordelaise family for more than one century. Attached to
Margaux Castle until 1984, the Vincent estate was then transformed
into a country house in 1985, preserving the intimacy of the old
family home and combining it with modern comfort and luxury. Guests
are welcomed in the lobby area with its 24-hour reception, hotel
safe and lift access. In addition to conference facilities and a
restaurant, there is a games room, Internet access (charges apply),
bicycle rental (for an additional fee) and parking. Guests are also
invited to take advantage of the room and laundry services.
Rooms
The guestrooms are decorated in warm, cosy Bordeaux style and are
comfortable, spacious and quiet. The Club rooms (30m²)
are located in the central part of the hotel, whereas the peaceful
Harmonie rooms, featuring a mix of contemporary and traditional
style, are located in the new wing close to the spa centre
(37m²). Six are connecting rooms, ideal for families.
The suites are 70 m² and are situated at the far end of
the different wings of the building. They offer plenty of space
with a bedroom and a sitting room and all feature unique views. All
rooms come with an en suite bathroom with hairdryer as well as
satellite/ cable TV, a radio, Internet access, a minibar, an
ironing set, a double bed, central or individual air conditioning
and heating and a safe.
Restaurant & Food
The Head Chef, offers guests a refined and traditional cuisine
inspired by local products. Located in one of the old cellars, and
featuring large bay windows with direct access to the terrace, the
restaurant has the atmosphere of a warm and cosy family dining
room, where stone walls tone in with the fine silver and glassware.
The exceptional wine list includes prestigious wines from the
Bordeaux region such as the Château Margaux,
Château Rauzan-Ségla and the
Château Latour. The Brasserie is located in the new
wing of the spa centre and offers a magical view of the golf course
and Gironde river.
Activities & Sport
The hotel features its own spa centre where guests may recover
their sense of well-being and a balance between mind and body. They
may enjoy being pampered from head to toe by expert hands
(masseurs, physiotherapists, osteopaths and beauticians), or diving
into the heated pool, under a starry sky, surrounded by wood and
stone design features. Among the treatments available are hot stone
therapy, Californian massage, Shiatsu, Indian massage, water
massages, hydrotherapy baths, spa jets (multi-sensory cocoon) and
seaweed wraps as well as a Moorish area (sauna, Turkish bath), a
solarium, a gym and a diet restaurant with outstanding views over
the golf course and Gironde. The hotel offers guests a range of
leisure activities including an 18-hole golf course designed by
Olivier Dongradi and situated in the 90-acre grounds in addition to
a driving range, tennis, cycling, billiards, quad-biking and
archery. The nearest wine Chateaux, where wine-tasting visits may
be organised, is only a few minutes from the hotel. The hotel's
Chef de Cuisine can also offer cookery classes.
Comments
The hotel's restaurant is open on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, on
Saturday evenings and for Sunday lunches. The Brasserie is open
every day for lunch and dinner from 12 noon until 10 pm. This
establishment features its own helicopter landing platform.
Directions, How to get
there
By motorway: take exit 7 towards "Le Bouscat, Eysines Le Vigean,
(I) Médoc". Follow signs to "(I) Médoc, Eysines Le
Vigean", then "Blanquefort", - "Macau" - "Labarde" and "Pauillac"
on the regional road "D2". After the villages of Macau, Labarde,
and Cantenac, guests will arrive at Margaux. Pass through the
village Margaux following the Departmental 2 road. Upon exiting the
village turn right immediately at the sign for "Relais de Margaux".
From here, it is a 2.5 km drive through the middle of the vineyard
to the hotel.
