Macdonald Houstoun House

Set within 8 hectares of mature woodlands, the hotel comprises a 16th Century tower house and farmstead. Built in 1652 and renovated in 1996, this historical hotel offers a total of 71 rooms spread over 3 floors of which 67 are double rooms and 4 are single rooms. There is a lobby with a 24-hour reception, a currency exchange facility and a cloakroom within the hotel and additional facilities include a conference room and catering facilities, with catering up to 400 delegates, and a public Internet terminal. There are also a laundry and room services available as well as parking facilities for those arriving at the hotel by car.

The 71 comfortable rooms come with full en suite facilities including family, executive and feature four poster rooms, and all are equipped with a hairdryer, satellite TV, IDD telephone and modem point, and a desk and working area. An iron and ironing board, trouser press, tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary still and sparkling mineral water, a shoe shine service, early morning calls, and a newspaper are also provided.

There is an excellent restaurant. with 2 AA Rosettes. The oak paneling, family paintings and antiques all add to the traditional aura. Informal dining is also available in the recently opened Steak House Restaurant.

In the outdoor complex is a heated swimming pool and there is an indoor pool within the hotel as well as a steam room, a solarium, a sauna and a gym. The professional massage service in the beauty treatment rooms as well as aerobics classes also feature amongst this hotel's sports offerings.
