Built next to the 17th century inn on the banks of the Teign
estuary, this accommodation offers a modern, comfortable atmosphere
whether staying for business or pleasure. There has been a hostelry
on the site since Roman times. It was the site of a tidal ford and
travellers would arrive and wait to cross the river. The hostelry
became known as the passage way across the river, and this is still
reflected in its current name. There are 6 function and conference
rooms, a business centre, holiday apartments and extensive car
parking. A total of 90 rooms are on offer. The hotel features a
lobby, bar and a restaurant.
Rooms
The modern full en suite rooms are equipped with a hairdryer,
television, direct dial telephone, broadband Internet connection
(fee), in-house films (fee), and tea and coffee making facilities.
The bathrooms are fitted with a shower and a bath.
Restaurant & Food
For coffee and that informal meeting, the Vue terrace and
conservatory offers stunning views of the estuary. The Lightermans
Restaurant offers table d'hôte and an Ã
la carte menu, making the best use of local produce. For a more
informal dining experience (or as an alternative) guests can dine
at the inn which offers an excellent carvery and an extensive menu
from a sandwich to succulent steaks and fish.
Activities & Sport
There is a very attractive and relaxing leisure suite with a steam
room, sauna and well appointed gym. The beauty salon offers a range
of treatments, massages and aromatherapy (fees apply). Hele Park
Golf Club is roughly 5.6 km from the hotel.
