The ryokan is located right in the center of Kyoto City making it easily accessible for any visitor. This historic inn has been under the ownership of the same family for 6 generations. Yasunari Kawabata, a Nobel laureate, considered this inn as his home away from home. Each room is uniquely designed with its own special motif. All rooms are traditional Japanese style, with tatami mats, papered shoji window, and sliding fusuma doors. The hotel serve the finest quality of Kyoto-style artistic and gracious Kaiseki cuisine, carefully prepared with the freshest seasonal ingredients, and elegantly presented on handcrafted Kiyomizu ceramics and the finest lacquer ware.
