Address : 54 rue saint-louis en l'île, 75004 paris 54, paris Show Hotel Map

At the beginning of the 17th century, Louis XIII decided to populate the? Ilot des Vaches? (which will becom Ile Saint Louis) and he ordered the construction of a Jeu de Paume (Real Tennis court). However, in the 18th century Real Tennis went out of fashion, and the building was purchased by the De Fourcy Family. Michel Rosmadec, a descendant of Henry de Fourcy, sold it to Dominique Lalanne who transformed it an enclosed area for commercial and business use.The building aged during the 19th and 20th century without major change, until it was reduce at the dawn of the 20th century, to poor and rather ordinary office quarters; only the venerable and original old chestnut tree beams remembered…In 1987, an architect, Guy Prache, discovered the place and its rich history, and decided to rehabilitate it by creating a hotel that would respect the original identity of the Jeu de Paume.
